Mecury Outboard Trims Down When it Should Trim Up

I just reinstalled the trim motor on my 2001 90 hp Mercury O/B after having to flush it. When I press the trim button on the engine to trim the engine up, the engine actually trims down. When I press the trim button on the engine to trim the engine up, the trim unit runs, but the engine does not move.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

sounds like you switched the wires on the trim motor when you had it out. You have the three wire motor? Make sure the blue ire (up) connects to the solenoid that has the blue/white wire. Make sure the green wire (down) connects to the solenoid that has the green.white wire. If the connections are good, make sure the battery si connected properly, and you have not connected the battery neg pole to the positive cable.
