I have a boat with an MC-1 drive on it. The rear motor mounts on the transom plate of the MC-1 are 15" apart (1978). I have an engine with a post 1983 flywheel housing on it and the motor mounts are 9.5" apart. My problem is the flywheel itself.... the newer flywheels are 14" and the old ones are like 12.5 thus the old Flywheel housing will not fit over my larger flywheel. I can't seem to find a flywheel with 15" apart motor mounts for a 14" flywheel. My next thought is to replace the inner transom plate with a new style plate but I don't even know if they are compatible.

I really need some help!

They are not compatible. You cannot use an newer style inner plate with an older transom assembly. You can buy a complete new (used) transom assembly - or work something out with your old mount and flywheel.
