MC-1 transom + cork gasket, to seal or not to seal?

In the event that bilge water should get high enough to enter the lower mounting bolt holes then galvanic action will begin to eat up the anodic lower bolts and the studs. I have seen enough of that where the lower studs were almost eaten away. That is when the outer transom gasket starts to let water seep under it. So a little sealer around the mounting hardware will prevent that from happening.
