Re: May be the Problem

I am sure you all have heard of this before. The cost of producing a unit of merchandise is so must less when it is manufacture in the third world country as compared to about 5 times more in the USA. The American industries have shift their working habit / trend from agri/manufacturing to service oriented. Yes, we still manufacture a lot of stuff but most of these are exported to the other country to be assembled there and in turn re-exported back to the USA and consumed by the American people. Cost factor, it is still cheaper and company still make their profit do it this way. Where as to complete a produce based on the US using US labor would not be economically feasible for these multi-billion conglomerate.

*More free trade* between nations is the long term answer to so many of the world's problems.

That statement may at first glance appear to be heading in the opposite direction to what you might think, because in the short term it feels wrong. Long term, it'a a level playing field that lets all of mankind contribute to a common good.

Also (due to technology and modern transport) the world is getting smaller all the time. We can't afford to leave our neighbours too far behind.

Any neighbourhood that contains both very rich and very poor people will never be a stable and safe place to be - for anyone.
