Max people on 1986 Sea Ox 230C

I don't see a coast guard plate on my boat. Just curious how many people I am able to carry on my 1986 Sea OX 230C center console. I don't want a ticket!!

Contact the manufacturer for a replacement capacities plate.

There have been many threads on this topic in the past. Do a search ( see box at top of forum page) for "capacity plate". You may find your answer in one of them.

This is the best known formula for figuring this:

Max Number of Persons = Boat Length X Boat Width/15

So an example would be 23 ft. x 8.5 (beam) = 195.5

195/15 = 13 person capacity.

I have had this used by LEOs as my last 2 boats were not plated. There is a lot of ambiguity in the regs on this. Google - Coast Guard Capacity Formula . . . good luck!!!
