Hello everyone. I have a mid eighties mariner motor that was made by Yamaha. It is a thirty horse and it asking has a made in Japan tag on it. I am needing to change the impeller and water pump on it and I'm not sure which parts to use. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Have you gone on IBoats parts and searched for your engine by model #? They have mid 80's covered on many engines.

If not, drop the lower unit and take it to a dealership. While you're at it, have the lower unit pressure and vacuum tested to make sure the seals are good.

Thanks. I have searched the internet over for my serial number and have yet to find a match. I was trying to avoid taking it somewhere but the more I search the more that it seems it will come to that.

Carlholme would be the only one I know that might be able to supply the info for you. Take a look through these impellors and see if you see one that matches the one you have. Many 30 HP mercury and yamaha impellors. 30 hp outboard new in Boat Parts | eBay

Yep, I have the same motor. That was the source for my impeller/related parts (thanks to the helpful guys on this site). I would have purchased from iboats, but the Crowley site was much more user friendly as far as locating my model # and appropriate parts.
