It's a 1988, could be a 50-60 or 70 carb numbers should tell which HP, not the smoothest idle in the wold.

Fun Times, Here are copies of the Mercury/Mariner service bulletins # SIS-1050 dated, August 29, 1991.

Re: mariner id

Sorry Laddies, But the way i'm reading your chart still tells me this engine is a 1990, The OP's serial number is said to be 0 C 258934.

0B239242 appears to me too start in 1988, 0B396036 starts in 1989 & 0C221500 is 1990.

Also the engine model number shows it to be a 1990 by googling 7050412SD.

Swarf99, If it will make it easier for you, you would be able to find one version of many to an engine parts catalog dedicated to your engine by googling your model number 7050412SD, you will find it.

Sorry for any confusion this may have caused, Good luck.:)

Re: mariner id

thanks for all the replies, the problem with that ID is that it says its an autoblend, I mix in the tank and can't see where an autoblend tank would be because theres not one now or space for one.

Re: mariner id

Some wise fellow removed the autoblend system and threw it in the rubbish, he likely saved the engine as autoblends were JUNK. Just keep mixing your fuel 50 to 1 with a good brand of TCW III oil and it should live many more years.

I can't see where it has be removed from as there is no spare space under the cowling, did they make any of these without autoblend?

Re: mariner id

The autoblend unit was about a 4qt. reservoir and pump that was in the boat near the transom of the boat and was connected to the engine by the fuel line
