I have a 40hp mariner from begin 90's with an electric start. I was wondering how the charging system works. I don't know much about it but I have one buttery hooked up to the engine. Is this battery only for starting purposes or does the engine charing system also charges this battery up?
This because my engine is hard to start on battery. My engine will start fine when I charge the battery at home for 7 hours, but the next day the battery won't have enough power to get the thing running. So I think I have a faulty battery, or the charging system won't work.
And another question. If I want tot have the battery in the front of the boat (3 meter) how thick should the battery cable be?
