I have had some problems with my 30hp mariner jet (1999) recently. It starts up and idles great. It throttles up to about half throttle then begins to cough and stall. I recently replaced the water pump. I took it out today (problem started) and it wasn't pumping water great and the stalling issue happened. I brought it home and took apart the water pump housing again and found some small rocks blocking everything up. Cleaned them all out and cleaned out the pisser line. I then noticed the tubing on the top of the water pump housing was reversed so i fixed that. Could the stalling have been a result of a poorly functioning water pump. Hooked it up to the hose and it pumped water great and throttled up all the way. Please advise taking it on a long trip sunday and don't have time to take it out for a test run. Any help is much appreciated
