Mariner 25hp model number BE25EC0C. What year please?

Hello there,

It's good to find this website as I am with the Maritime Volunteer Service London Unit, patroling and helping with saftey on the river thames. We are pretty short on engineers in the upper Thames region so this is a perfect place to read and learn.

I have had a read about 25hp Mariners and learned a bit.

I wonder if someone can help me with some information.

We have been given a mariner 25hp and the model number is BE25EC0C.

Can anyone tell me what year is was made please, so I can research that paticular type of engine.

I am the bosun of the Hurlingham Yacht club in Putney, LONDON on the River Thames, so If anyone is passing then there will always be a freindly cup of tea/coffee or a pint in the evening.

Serial no. is B006945

Outboard marine corperation, Belgium.

Hold up, I made a silly mistake. just realised it is an evinrude 25hp. Got mixed up as we were given two engines. Guess I will have to repost this in the evinrude section.

Eliminates the need for this as the s/n actually came up in an American 25 range but not Belgium which tends to start with 9.

B =Belguim
E =Evinrude
25=Horsepower
E =electric
C =8
O =5 Should be 1985 Evinrude

I was referrring to the Mariner, not the Evinrude

A BE25ECOC is a Evinrude not a Mariner, easy to tell for most.
