Model 7150412ED, serial 0G407849.
Bought boat used (1994 smokercraft ultima 175) 4 years ago, had the powerhead rebuilt after scored rings (the oil injection failed and I had it removed, just running premix now for 2 seasons). Sometimes the engine bogs down and runs rough around 2k rpm, won't climb any higher... I typically have to idle it super high until the rpms get past 5k, then throttle back down and get underway. "Bogs down" as in, as I accelerate steadily (not hammer down, not baby it), it's getting overfed or starved, the fuel isn't combusting and drowning the engine. Sometimes I can feather it past the sticky point, but lately I've been slamming it past and it seems to be less of an issue. This usually happens if I don't pump out the premix and mix it up each time, and sometimes it will even if I do. I'm running 50:1 with ethanol-free octane 91 or better. I try to use full synthetic 2 stroke oil (quicksilver) whenever possible too. Putting seafoam in the premix helps but not always (1.5 oz to gall). Last time out, I leaned my mix to about 70:1, she ran the best I've seen all year... I'm hesitant to call this a win though. Am I heading for another rebuild? Need some advice.
