I'm looking at a 1990 Sea Ray "Laguna 23" with the original twin Mariner 135s. I have asked several local techs, and get different feedback from each regarding reliability and life expectancy.

Both motors are showing 600-700 hours, and they have been regularly mantained, but not rebuilt.
The owner said the #s from a compression check are noted under each engine cover, but I don't have the specifics yet. He did say the power packs, voltage regulators, water pumps, and thermostats, have all be replaced in the last 3 years

Does anyone have personal experience with these outboards?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
TS

Yes, they are the originals from 1990.

I hear the original owner had the boat for 12 years and was supper anal (about 6" thick of reciepts and notes).

Second owner has only had it 3 years, and has all original documentation from 1st owner, plus his own.
