You can measure the diameter of the wire(not including insulation) and come up with the gauge from charts. If you are using this battery for a trolling motor, you should just get a deep discharge battery.

Ok I will measure the wire and see where it stands. Thank you all for your inputs! This is now just a minor problem since I took the boat out for the first time since I bought it yesterday, just to break down I am pretty sure it has something to do with my gas...
