It's that time of the year again. Selection Sunday is this coming Sunday and the Play-In games are Tuesday, the 18th. The NCAA tournament opening round begins on Thursday.

The ESPN league aspeck set it up - iboats - is still active. I went to join a league and it asked if I wanted to stay in the same league as last year. Something simple like that.

Can't do any worse than the Bowl games. I know nothing about these teams. Around here if it doesn't happen locally, we hear nothing. So, about all we get is a U of Mn and U of WI score, nothing else even on the Big10. Sad...... Been strictly HS b-ball for me the last few months. Stayed plenty busy with that and now watching the state tourney. The team we lost to for the right to go to state is in the final. They're winning by a couple in the 4th. So that's kinda cool.

The brackets are decided. Florida, Arizona, Virginia and Wichita St. are the top seeds.

The play-in games are Tues/Weds and the first games begin on Thursday, the 20th

No Wim, the play-ins have been around for several years. Used to be just 2 play-in games, always for a 16 seed. 2 or 3 years ago (maybe longer) they expanded to 68 teams and the additional 2 playins ore for a 12 or 11 seed.

My Hawkeyes are in a play-in for the 11 seed this time around, which is absolutely humiliating to the home folks. A lot of Iowa fans wish they hadn't been selected at all. Not really sure how I feel about. They were being shown as a 3, or at worst 4, seed less than a month ago and just totally collapsed the last 6 games of the season.

I guess next year there will be 8 play-ins. :facepalm: I don't understand why there are three P-I's for the Midwest bracket. Why not one P-I for each regional bracket?

4 teams are 16 seeds, 2 are 11 and 2 are 12. How did they decide that one? I can see the 16 seeds, I guess..... 8 PIs next year? What a cluster. They should divide them amongst the 4 brackets evenly. Sounds like they're trying to screw up March Madness too..... If it aint broke don't fix it. And it aint broke......

With my daughter playing varsity ball for a few years, it's HS b-ball every year from Dec. till now. Watch the boys too. College ball gets put on the back burner...... Maybe I'll stay caught up next year, she graduates this year...

That's my luck with the picks ... My final 4 teams usually go out in the second round ... Last year was my best show, I was in it till the elite 8 ...
