Trying to manually raise 1985 150hp mariner. Seems like some sort of button that pushes in and a lever. But it doesnt seem to free it up...any help would be appreciated. ..thanks for your time
As I recall there are 2 screws on the pump/reservoir assembly. One is at the rear and is a hexagon nylon with a screwdriver slot about the size of a quarter dollar. That's the fill port. The other one is on the side of that unit. Don't remember if you back it out a few turns or just turn it like 90 degrees. Also don't remember if you can access it with the engine down. Probably can. With your boat being in the water both ports may be submerged.
My reply will probably get you to one of the mechanics on here and they can do a better job of helping....it's called bumping.....your post back to the top where it's more visible.
Are you hearing a click when you hit the trim button???
It may just be a relay(easy fix).....
Otherwise it should take a turn or two of a flathead to get it to lower(you don't fully unscrew).
I'm not sure if water will get in if you turn it while in the water. But I don't think it will....
if you have a pump in tha boat its not a '85....that type went away in '83 along with tha V6 block change .... dependin' on which pump it is, there should be a screw on tha valve body, when backed off a little, will let ya move tha motor manually.. been a long time since seein' tha production model so just tryin' ta remember....gl.
now that we know , that "button" is a "full up" lock
