Manual Release on Tilt Drive

Does anyone have an idea as how to replace the manual tilt drive release screw on a 1998 Evinrude 225hp. Mine has lost half the head on the screw so I can't release the tilt drive manually if I had to. Thanks in advance for help.

Unless someone has a secret I'm not aware of, you'll need to remove the PTT unit from the engine in order to gain access to that manual release valve.

PTT,does that stand for the power tilt trim?Does that mean I have to take the whole unit off?

PTT = Power Tilt Trim. Having the unit removed from the engine is the only way I know of to get at that valve screw.
