Just aquired 1983 23' Chris Craft. The original engine was Chevy 350 with log manifolds. The current engine is a Chevy 350 from a Volvo Penta set up with a closed cooling system. It is installed to the mercruiser Alpha 1 drive using the original transom/shift attachments. They kept the Volvo center riser manifolds and attached the exhaust to the Y pipes.

I'm new to closed cooling systems and Volvo Penta set ups. I've noticed that the manifolds have one water hose only, connected at the front ends. No other hoses attach to the maifold or riser. Is the a typical Volve setup with closed water cooling? The port side riser and manifold run hot (on muffs), the starboard side runs warm, not hot.

I've attempted to attach some photos:

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b365/rebars1/1bb7cb1f.jpg

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b365/rebars1/engineside.jpg

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b365/rebars1/engineside2.jpg
