Re: man got run over

just went to the house. and talked to the daughter. she said that he will be back 2moro night. he has truama 1 injuries. and just bruises on his chest and addomin area. with bad bruises on his right arm. scrathes on his jaw.

i must say he got really really lucky

Darn, he's already reproduced.

He'll probably tell stories about it and show the scars like he's proud of it. Don't get me wrong, I'd have helped out too, but I also would have just shook my head at his stupidity if he'd been decapitated.

Maybe he'll come back and be a perfect example of a careful boater.. but my gut says he'll just be careful till he heals then be back at the dumb stuff. He sounds like one of those people who'd be doing dumb things somewhere regardless... if not boating, then motorcycles, or cars, or something else...

Re: man got run over

dont think any press was involved in this incident

That is likely good.

You can remember your heroism, and be proud. You should be proud, it is people like you who make sure we all remember there is good in this world.

Re: man got run over

finaLLY GOT a chance to talk to the guy. well he was doing alright. so what happened was he went in the back of the boat to take out the plug then he told he wife to put it in slow foward. so she goes and floor it and he said that his was steering was recoil so when she floored it it turned all the way to the right the bow went and up and he fell out and so on then he was under the boat and he remembers that he got run over twice then got hit on the back of the head and doesnt remember. he did get cut by the prop in the neck/jaw it think but he had a dull alum prop on there so it didnt cut him to bad all over. he had another stainless steal but luckily wasnt on there.

so he had one tequilla? beofre he went out that day not sure about his wife. also he tells me that have a boat overpowered is legal i keep telling him its illegal then y does he have a 20hp sticker on there but its a 70hp motor? is it legal?

Re: man got run over

my guess is that this will be a short lived lesson. People like this just can't help themselves. They may never run over each other with the boat, but it will be something. And you can bet drinking will be involved.

You did an excellent job for a person of any age, nevermind being 14 years old. You kept a cool head, quickly formulated a plan of action an executed it. I've seen many adults panic in such situations and become totally useless.

Good job!

Coolguy - I think that your name says it all. You kept your mind in the situation and stayed calm, cool and collected. You did what was needed without pause. Excellent job.

As far as overpowering goes. I thought it was illegal but I can't cite any sources at the moment stating it. However, I know it has been discussed on this board before so the search function might be of some help.

Again, great job! We need more people on this earth like you.

Re: man got run over

I know this is an older post, but I just wanted to put this out there. Sounds like he hit a wave parallel to the boat which cause the bow to be sucked down forcing the boat go in a sharp circle tossing him and the dog out of the boat (circle of death). Some how the lady didn?t get tossed out and probably hit the floor pretty hard causing shock where she didn?t know what to do. This is actually something that can happen to anyone when they?re not paying attention. Happened to me once and I was just a passenger (not drinking, and without a life vest on). Glad you were out there to help him out (probably even saved his life), and I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Re: man got run over

Reminds me of the guy who ran over himself. He asked his wife to run over to the store for a pack of smokes and she says "no". So he ran over himself...

Re: man got run over

Good work cool guy you are truly a sheaperd here to help watch over the ignorant flock. As far as overpowering a boat it is definitley ileagal in florida. there is a plate required on every boat that has a max hp rating on it and that may not be axceeded. However , remove the plate and produce a receipt to the dmv for some fiberglass and you instantly have a homade boat that does not require a rating and these idiots can put what they want on there.
