Re: Make the jump!

I saw these people the other day that pulled up to the launch in a ford ranger with their new flat bottom on a small utility trailer, not tied down in any way.

The boat was one of the Little 10 foot Dura Crafts that you can buy at Academy, They also had a 2.5 hp mercury and no stickers or tags

Those of you not living near rural communities may not understand but these people looked like meth heads.

Anyways three people and a chihuaha climb into this little boat and putter about 10 feet away from the dock with no life jackets before they realized that the boat was way unstable and one of them fell out.

They laughed at the guy who fell out and then loaded the boat back up, without tie downs and drove off.

At least they didnt make it to the middle of the lake where its 70 feet deep!

Wow. If you had taught the 5 yr. old how to drive the boat already, you could have thrown him in instead. Then it would be the "Teach and Toss" method.

:D:D:D:D:D

Glad no one was hurt!

Re: Make the jump!

Years ago, on a self induced fishing trip to Mark Twain lake in MO, Did all the pre-launch activities, i.e. Drain plug, transom straps, unlatched winch, *THOUGHT* I had tied the LOOOONG rope to bow stop on trailer. Well....

Backed her in, sudden stopped in REV to lauch boat. Well. The THOUGHT above wasn't all that tight. Oh she launched okay... and kept on floating.

The wind picked up and put her agains the bank about 60 yrds. out. LUCK would have it, another boater saw my plight. Climbed aboard and trolled out to my boat. I was freaking out at first. Then.... The laughter came... and ALOT...

We all make mistakes. I know *I* do... If you can't laugh at yourself, you musn't be truly happy...

Tah Tah...
