Lube

Good morning all was wanting to know what is the best grease or lube to put on steering arm at the motor. Thanks

Quicksilver makes a Special Lube 101 just for that purpose. It has the consistency of toothpaste. I happen to have some, so I use it. I clean the steering rod in the fall and lube it up.

However, any grease will work, if you do it often enough.

Thank you Chris probably need to clean mine got a lot of caked on grease

A bit of paint thinner on a rag will remove the old grease.

Best grease hands down for that application if Evinrude Triple-Guard grease.

Switching to Triple-Guard grease and the installation of a "Steering Guard" was some of the best money I've spent on the boat.

Triple-guard works great on fishing reels as well
