Lowrance Combo Models Fuel Flow Question

I am looking at a Lowrance LMS-527C DF iGPS and one review said that it does not use the internal gps to calculate MPG with the data from the fuel flow sensor...the external gps antenna is needed.

Can any of you confirm if this is true.

I have seen the Lowrance 5300 Ci gps. Which one of these is the newer model? and does one have an advantge over the other?

Thanks, Mike

I have the older model of that GPS and it is true with mine that you need the external GPS antenna. For that reason I ordered the external GPS antenna model. You can still get fuel flow but no MPG which was an important feature for me.
