this 93 70hp evinrude #e70tlets the lower bottom is loose but holding on by a thin rod from the motor to the lower unit how does this come apart

That one may have the shift rod that unhooks under the carb. Follow the shift linkage from the shifter end of it.

Evirude motors have a shift rod that is secured to the shift linkage. The release bolt or clip is located usually under the lowest carb. I recommend you purchase a service manual before you go any farther. It is easy and expensive to damage components.

You need to get the omc factory service manual, the rest are only good for toilet paper.
