Re: lower unit ?

An L-drive is a sort of weird hybrid experiment that Force did 20 years ago for a few short years. Basically it is a 2 stroke outboard power head mounting inboard of the boat. However it drives straight down through a horizontal transom and finally through what I believe is a regular outboard (right angle) lower unit. The mechanical bit that connects the powerhead to the transom and the lower unit is an odd looking thing.
It gives the appearance of being an inboard/outboard boat from a distance. Apparently it was a troublesome unit and was in production long enough to get the bugs worked out. The other down side is that now due to low production, needed parts are hard to come by.

If you have any pics of your engine and lower unit I would recommend posting a few....seeing is believing and you will get a quicker more informed response.
Good Luck
