I just recently purchased a Lowe with a 120 hrs Evinrude. I'm kinda new to boating and I'm not very familiar with outboard motors. I've got a shop manual coming but in the meantime I thought I'd try to do a little maintenance. What is the procedure for changing the lower unit gear oil? What is the recommended oil for this engine? anything else I'd should know about lower unit care?
Thanks for your help

Remove both big slot head screws and drain.
Refill from the bottom hole with 80-90W Marine gear lube until it squirts out the top hole, then replace the top screw, then the bottom.

Don't take out the phillips head screw !! Bad things will happen. Very bad things...
Replace the sealing washers on the drain screws before reinstalling.

That's a good video except that you will want your OMC gearcase in the running position when refilling to fill the case to the correct level. See your owner's manual under Lubrication instructions.
