Hello everyone.
My 59 johnson lower unit is leaking. Hard for me to tell how much as I have only run this motor in a tank sofar. When I changed the oil for maintenance it was clean and full.checked to see if fishing line was around prop...no line. Changed the impeller (which was toast) and reinstalled lower unit. Now its leaking pretty bad. Some say to just make sure oil is full when I run it but im not sure im ok with that. Is it possible I didn't seat the seal properly when reinstalling? It didn't look like something that could fit together right if it wasn't... I can buy new seal kit for lower unit but looking for other options/advice before I throw another $30 at this motor. Thanks for your advice in advance.
