lower unit leak and pressure testing

Any brainwaves on an adapter to fit a tire valve to the fill or vent holes on the lower unit of a Merc (or other) outboard?
Getting water in the gear oil, and trying to identify where, by pressurizing and submerging....

you could also add a tire valve stem at the input but you'll loose the possibility to do a vacuum test. Better to let a plain hose with a valve and, then, you could do both pressure and vacuum (sometimes seals leak only one way).
