lower unit interchange

hi

need to replace lower unit (gearcase) on my 1970 9.5 hp evinrude model 9022C. Found same year 6 hp model 6002B. Will that work?


How about a 1966 9.5 hp lower unit?

If you think or know either would fit, could you explain a little how you know?

The 9.5s from at least '65 thru '73 (or was '72 the last year?) will interchange. I know '64 and back were different in at least a few ways, but not sure if the lower units were different.

Not sure about the 6.

All the 9.5 units will interchange, 1964 to 1973.

None of the 6hp units will interchange...
