I have a 1982 model Mariner 30hp outboard and the guy that I bought it from had to get the lower unit changed out at some point in the motors life. I bought an impeller and a seal kit for the motor off of this website and it wasn't quite right. It was close but some of the seals looked a little off. So now I have to figure out what the foot came off of. Is there any way to do that? Thanks.

Is it a thru hub exhaust or above prop exhaust? A 28hp and the 30W will interchange but use different seals.

It is a through hub exhaust. It has absolutely no numbers stamped or etched on the outside of the foot. The seal kit seemed to be a universal type kit because it did have some extra seals(or it was the wrong one). Is there any other brand lower units that it could possibly be?

Nope as that the import model made by Yamaha... it either a 28 or 30hp unit.
