Lower unit compatability 1995 150 EXEOM

Can anybody off er me this information. What years and size motors lower units are compatible with mine. I am looking at a 2000 or 1999 200 HP Evinrude this morning and am considering buying it for the lower unit.

The complete gearcase part # for my 1995 150 EXEOM is 0435478
The complete gearcase part # for the 2000 200 FPXIF is 50016414
They look and measure the same. Does the 2000 use superseded numbers
I was told they were compatible but do numbers lie.

You could see if the SEI Replacement gearcase is the same for both motors.

I am checking with them .Their site does not specify other than V4 and V6. Nor does it specify year compatability. Thank You.

Any V-6 unit after 1990 will work. These have the 2 piece driveshafts and all you have to do is pop em and swap em.There are difference in spline length and driveshaft length on 60 and 90 degree motors
