Lower shift cable issues alpha 1

I just installed a brand new oem lower shift cable by the book. I have at 1-2” of travel on the black sleeve on the motor side. I read that 9/16ths is the max travel on this. Any ideas?

If you're looking for 9/16" end play and seeing 1-2" the inspection you're performing is not correct

To go further, if the end play is indeed 1-2" then the installation was incorrect. As in, that cannot happen even if the installation was close but not quite correct

Kinda like looking in the bedroom for a shovel type thing.

I did that job only once, by using the service manual instructions, and did not have any issues. I would think you need to review and redo the installation.
