Lower shift cable adjustment

Anyone have the correct process to adjust and set the lower shift cable. Took mine out when I removed my alpha gen 2 drive and now it grinds a little going into gear. 1996 alpha 1 gen 2 coupled to a 3.0lx in an 18ft bow rider.

PS: You do not have to remove the shift cable just to remove the outdrive. Section 2 also covers how to remove the outdrive, and reinstall it.
