1976 9.9 had beef ouling the lower spark plug. After resolving a weak spark issue I continued to foul the bottom plug only, but not as quickly. So I installed a new head gasket and exhaust cover plate gaskets. <br /><br />No more water on the plug, but still fouling the lower spark plug.The mechanic at Holloways Marina in Big Bear Calif. has a whole fleet of 75 thru 85 Johnson 9.9, 15 and 25's on their rental fleet.<br /><br />As soon as I told him my symtoms, he said change the thermostat. He has it and the gasket in stock, 15 minutes later I'm back in the water. 2 ours (of continous use) later, no fouled spark plugs!!!!<br /><br />Thank All of YOU for your help.<br /><br />Time to go fishing and enjoy.
