Lower end gear lube 93 40hp

I want to change the oil but is there any gear oil that you can get at like Walmart that is just as good as EVINRUDE Name bran gear lube? Like soemn valvolie 90 weight stuff at the auto parts store??

I popped the lower plug off just to make sure there was some in it. The stuff that was in it looked real good. It was real greenish in color. What type oil is that that looks greenish??? I did not see any water.
