lower end casting numbers(4 digit).Where are they located?

The motor in question is a 1963 merc 110.9.8 hp.I'v checked the exterior and didn't see any.Would they be in the gear housing or the water pump area?

I found them.It was in the area where the intake water tube goes from the exterior to the water pump.Underneath the tube are the casting numbers on the housing.1622 are the numbers.

Should be 1622 - xxxx in the complete number.
