Low. X-125 speed temp questions

My new boat came with a lowrance x - 125 bow and console. Transducer is thru the hull = no water temp.. I am going to add speed and temp to the unit, should I get the ST-TBL transom mount speed/temp prob or for a few $ more get a transom mount skimmer transducer and add the speed sensor?
Is there any advantage to the transom mount vs thru the hull mount transducer? Thanks

I have no experience with the thru-hull but I have the exact configuration of skimmer/speed/temp you want to install and it works beautifully.

Here's a picture of them! Temperature probe is built into the speed transducer.
