The gear ratio can be easily checked. Just put the drive in gear, turn the engine till the prop starts truning a little. Then turn the engine and count the turns of the engine and see how many full and partial turns of the engine trun the prop 1 complete revolution.
With a 1.98 Gear ratio for a 3.0L you should see 2 complete turns. a 1.5 ratio would be one and a half turns of the engine for one of the prop.

Happy to try it Don. Now, how the heck do I count the turns of the engine. I can count prop revolutions but that's it. Thanks.

Hello Don S.

Sorry for my ignorance but I really have no idea how to verify engine turns. You suggest simply to put the drive in gear, turn the engine till the prop starts turning a little. Then turn the engine and count the turns of the engine and see how many full and partial turns of the engine trun the prop 1 complete revolution. Again, sounds great, but how do I verify engine turns?.

CHEERS!
