LOW RPMS AND LOW SPEED

I HAVE A BAYLINER CIERRA WITH A 270 VOLVO PENTA. RPMS WILL ONLY GET TO 3200 AT FULL THROTTLE. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME A FEW TROUBLE SHOOTING IDEAS.

First of all, turn off the cap locks. All caps is considered yelling on forums, and it's very hard to read.

This may be a little academic but have you tried trimming the outdrive?

Check the "Low WOT, High Fuel Consumption" posting above you. I suspect that with the 2006 season operating on ethanol-based gasoline (90/10), many engines have not reached the same performance levels as expereinced in 2005. 90/10 has about 12 - 13% less Btu/gallon, and lacks the power of pure gasoline. You have to advance the throttle more to get "last year's performance", consuming more fuel and sometimes not reaching WOT at all. While there are several "boosting additives" available, DO NOT USE one that has alcohol in it. Ethanol is already alcohol and a terrific solvent. You'll get tank water and every piece of crud in the tank is going to loosen and head for the carbs or injectors. Stay on top of your separators and filters.
