1995 yam. 55 hp, 2 stroke, 2 cylinder. C55TLRT

low rpm stutter, from 1000 to about 2100 when I took it out last weekend. runs fine after 2400 RPM on out to WOT

someone told me linc and sync. but when I looked thru my yamaha manual it didn't say anything other than just make sure the butterflys open together. no idea how to properly conduct this then.

another said timing. once again, no idea

neither of the above are outboard mechanics and have just about as much experience on them as i do, which is little.

Re: low RPM stutter

they are both kinda right, your linkage should advance your timing some before throttling up. there is a sync to it, but if your did not change anything and it just started doing this, I would be more likely a carb issue, probably idle passage clogged in one or more carbs. also if the plugs are old replace them.
