Hello Everyone,
I have a 2010 Yamaha F90L. Ran fine today, but when I was docking it, I managed to get a tube rope underneath the propellor and it jammed. I didn't realise what was going on, but when I put the motor into reverse, there was a loud bang, and the motor died. Started it twice more, shifted into reverse each time, same result (loud bang), then checked and realized what was going on (unhooked the rope, got it started, put it into reverse - no problem, seemed to run fine).
What was the loud bang, and did I do any damage? What if anything should I do before taking the boat out again?
The bang was a mechanical sound, not the sound of an engine backfiring.
