Loud '81 merc 200

I have small problem or maybe not can Any one tell me if these holes are suppose to be here. This thing runs great but is loud extremely loud when on plane. Any help would be greatly appreciated. In case it makes a difference the center section # 4869018 Welsh plug on eng # 5976270 thank you

No ,someone added them and did a pretty good job at it! The midsection is a late 79 or early 1980 midsection.(2 ram trim)

Thank you Fazt they look good had to be cut with a mill. Do you think it will hurt anything to make some kind of cover for them.

It may hurt the hole shot a little if engine is tired,or it may even improve it as more exhaust will exit thru prop

Jugging by the compression numbers and the mount of power I don't think It's tired. Then again I would not know. Thank you
