Lost spark in my 1995 Evinrude 130

I've been bring my flats boat back to life for the last couple of weeks and everything was going good until I lost spark to the 1995 Evinrude 130 engine. It was sitting for 3 years and it turned over right over when I first pulled it out of storage last month. It only ran for 10 seconds and stalled out. I changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, and put fresh fuel in the tank. After I did all that I tried to start it and it would turnover. I'm not getting a spark at the spark plugs or the coil packs. Any idea's of where I lost the spark.

I would suggest you get the factory manual and use the trouble shooting section to check out the ignition system. There could be several componets that could have failed, the manual will take you through the system to find the bad componet.

Disconnect the black/yellow wire from the pack. If you have spark then you have a boat prob. If not you have a mtr prob.

I did some more investigating this weekend. Using my voltage testers it seems that I was losing spark between the fly wheel and the coil packs. I believe there may be an issue in with the power pack. It looks like one of the main wires (black and yellow) may have burnt out. Some of my grounds had corrosions on them which may have led to the problem. Before I purchase a new power pack I want to make sure that this sounds like the problem. Any thoughts?

If the black and yellow wire has worn insulation and is touching any metal it is grounding out and that will keep your engine from firing as that is the kill wire. When you turn the key off it grounds the black and yellow. You need to clean up all the wiring bad connectors and old wiring can cause headaches.
