Can anyone give me advice as to why I am getting little power on tolling motor on 12 volt but on 24 volt sufficient. battery is new. When I used another outside battery directly on 12 and 24 volts power was sufficent. I don't know if it is in the wiring from battery(short) or in the outlet How can I find out or replace the outlet? Going fishing trip in 2 wks. quick response would be greatful

Re: lost power to trolling motor

You keep saying "battery"! If you expect the motor to perform on 24 volts you need two of them. You cannot get 24 volts from one 12 volt battery. Without more description of what you actually have for wiring we (at least I) can't help. Answers require details. How many batteries. Two wires from each battery to the bow? Three wires from the batteries to the bow? Does the boat have a switch panel at the bow with a 12/24/Run/Charge switch? See where this is going? You need to understand what your wiring is before you start tearing things apart and thowning money at parts that don't need replacing. Pictures help here. But details are needed too.
