Re: Lost Keys

I have the hooks and I use them most of the time...But,...sometimes I get distracted coming in the door.

So my best remedy is to have multible sets of keys and keep the house tidy so I can find them more easily when I'm do chinese fire drill. :D

EXACTLY!! That's my problem. Obviously I'm not alone in my frustration.

Re: Lost Keys

One of those magnet strips like the kind used for kitchen knives works well mounted on the wall near the door.

Re: Lost Keys

My wife and I use the butt whipping suggested by heycods. Sometimes we just act like we lost the keys.

Re: Lost Keys

I've got the solution!

Have a jeweler make a keyring with about five carats of diamonds on it that attaches to a neck chain and pendant. Either she'll never misplace her keys again or you'll be out several thousand dollars worth of diamonds now and then. ;)

Re: Lost Keys

My wife loses her keys every other day. Not an exateration either. She walks in and they are lost.
I put a key hanger by the door, she used it for a week.
I have the habit now when she comes home I follow her until she sets them down then I hang them up.
Wherever she goes first is where the keys are. If she stops to pet the dog, they will be on the floor where she met the dog. If she stops to get a cold water, they will be in the fridge. Sometimes she puts them on the table, sometimes in her pocket, sometimes her purse, and once in a while on the counter UNDER the key holder. I have even found them in the bathroom sink and on the bathroom floor beside the toilet on occasion.

And if I ever ask her where the keys are she says HOW SHOULD I KNOW!
Oh and the hanger to hold the keys was her idea.

Gosh DD...I hate to think what happens to the keys when she comes into the house urgently needing the restroom.

;)

Dogsdad, that is the day I found them on the floor under the toilet.
Don't tell her I told that one! She says it never happened.

Re: Lost Keys

Try the spanking thing like heycods said, it will not help but it can be fun.

Then you will have no one to blame if you can't get in because of cateracts. ;)

Re: Lost Keys

This probably belongs in Stupid Human Tricks, but it's a key story so here goes.

About 44 years ago when I was in high school, I stopped off at the service station to drop off a flat tire. The car was a 58 Ford 2 door hardtop. Told Art, the owner, I would come back later to pick it up. I opened up the trunk, took out the tire, pulled the keys out of the lock, threw them in the trunk and slammed the lid. I looked at Art. Art looked at me. The spare keys were about 12 miles away but I didn't really want to call my dad to bring them. Art said it shouldn't be too hard to take out the back seat, so I borrowed some tools and went to work. By the time I had the keys out and the seat back in, Art was done with the tire. I opened the trunk, put the tire back in, pulled the keys out of the lock, threw them in the trunk and slammed the lid.

Let them figure it out, their crying isnt your problem (easy for me to say because I'm not there).

Walk out and wait.

Easiest way to learn to do something right, is by realizing what doing it wrong does to you.
