IMG_2627.jpegI’m restoring my late fathers boat and for the life of me cannot find the key for it. It’s hard to find exact info online because I don’t have much boat experience. Wondering if I can get a new key or if not can I replace the ignition

In most all cases there are only a few different keys. Find a local Suz dealer and they will have the keys

I don't know about Suzuki, but when I lost the key for my old Mercury outboard about 30 years ago, I contacted a dealer and was told that they only had a few variations of ignition keys.

There was a code stamped just below the key. I didn't find it, so went to the dealer and he saw the code and got me a replacement immediately from stock on hand.

Maybe the Suzuki will be something similar? 🤷‍♂️

When I was a kid the old Merc was so warren out we could start it with a fine blade common screw driver and I'm not suggesting you do that. Just saying boats do not have a lot of antitheft.

Hi. Others above are correct. But I’m almost certain, if you want the exact key at the first attempt…loosen off that ignition barrel retainer nut..pull the barrel out a little (worst case..open the control box up)…and you’ll usually see a 3 digit number there. That’s the number coding to the key you’re after.

Try googling:

suzuki na12s control box key

Look on control box for specific key code.
