1998 Searay 290 DA.... Twin 4.3's.... Alpha 1 gen 2....
Out in some nasty seas with a heavier than normal load (probably 400 extra pounds)...
On the way back noticed that it took a bit longer to get on plane. I had to pin the throttles (which I normally don't have to do to get on plane).
I also noticed I lost about 200-300 rpm's.... and about 2mph.... I am thinking this may be consistent with the rough water, and the extra weight...
I may be creating an issue that I don't actually have..... I would love some input on this....

Thanks in advance....

Is the bottom clean or dirty? Growth in the props?

Don't see an issue, same thing happens when I fill my 105 gallon fuel tank. It's all HP to weight ratio, the more weight, the more HP is needed. High winds and rough seas also reduce the performance

Your good :)

Change those 4.3 with 8.2 and have lots of fun :D

If I need to repower I may consider moving to a v-8, but I know there is a lot to that swap....Certainly not the 8.1 LOL
I bet it would be a fun boat though...
