Where did you get them from? What part number did you order. They could be for 1 over.

yeah 378425 are rings for when you bore .040 over. NOT for standard pistons sorry they will not work.

hopefully this is the last set of questions i have, BUT is there a right and wrong way to install the piston rods to the pistons? one side is flat the other open, also are there torque specs for the nuts that join the powerhead to the exhaust housing?

also is there a "close enough" when installing the rod cap, they sit pretty flush but i can catch my fingernail just barely on the inside, cant feel it with my finger though.

Make sure the rod caps are the correct ones for that rod. They MUST go with the one they came from, and MUST go in the same direction. Some have a small dot to line them up. As you tighten them, rock them slowly.

Obviously you know which way the piston must go in the cylinder. That is important! Swooping side towards the exhaust, short steep side to intake.

Then, if the rods have oiling holes, they face up.

If the crank has counterweights, the rods will only fit one way.

Flat side of the rod faces the center main bearing.

again another question, how many needles am i supposed to have, i have 29 for each rod on the crank, but that leaves space between them, is this normal?
