"How did you make out Saturday Zimm?"

? of the day.

Yeah JD, been wondering what could be wrong with it.
Other than too many snooty people not willing to look at an old boat.

I already have this one in my shed, or I would have gone to get the one in La Crosse or Pewaukee.

How did you make out Saturday Zimm?

I did go see the boat and did buy her THANKS for asking! Even better in person I must say! John was very passionate about her and had a lot to say with great advice. Gave me some spare parts, gaskets ect. You could tell by his house, lawn and cars he was careful and really put in effort to keep things nice. He hadn't taken the boat out on the water for a year or so, so he decided to let someone else enjoy it. He did fire it up for me with the "rabbit ears", started and ran well in the driveway! Also showed me all the ins and outs with it. He was like a father letting his 15yo daughter go to the dance with a boy for the first time lol. My brother and I even posed for a few pics in front of the boat for him (We felt bad leaving the driveway as he watched her go).

I did take it out today with the lady and had a blast getting to know the boat. One little issue I noticed was; when I went to accelerate with some authority it would bog down. If I pulled the throttle back it would resume accelerating just fine. Never stalled or even thought about it, just would slow on acceleration from time to time. My gf didnt even notice what I was talking about but then again shes...well never mind lol. So maybe its a fuel pump, or bad spark but it hadnt been on the water in a bit and did have to brave the cold northern MN winter. Any ideas on where to start looking?

Edit: Motor is 1989 120hp Mercuiser engine

Zimm - Welcome to the Starmada. Looks nice a nice SS. The acceleration prob might be old gas, dirty filter or worse case a carb re-build. all easy fixes. Have fun and throw up a few pics.

I was just going to say the same thing as GA. Usually if it bogs whe you mash the gas it has to do with the accelerator pump on the carb. It might just need an adjustment.
