Looking for repairs to old Evinrude

The outboard is a 40HP 'big twin' Evinrude, model #4085D. Circa 1964-68. Lost the original manual. Any help would be appreciated. Located in Central/Northern Florida

I would start on ebay.

You can get a reprint of the OEM Manual (what I recommend) at several places, including kencook.com.

Could the model number be 40853 instead of 4085D? That would make it a 1968.

I always get mine on eBay. Much cheaper than a new repro.
