Well I'm back from Vegas and its back to work on the old Skeeter. I had some help today with removing the motor and placing both the good one and bad on a spiffy new motor dolly I made over the past three days... Thanks to many here with building that. Pics coming soon. So heres my current dilemma. I just finished prepping the boat to separate the top section from the hull( life will be much easier with that removed. In the process of doing this as most of you probably know there was a metal(aluminum) rail riveted to both halves that had a rubber , or what I think used to be rubber, bumper that slid into the rail. That bumper will have to be replaced do to me ripping it to pieces trying to remove it. It was oxidized and brittle due to age. What I don't know is what this stuff is actually called and where can I get it. Thanks all a bunch and as always i will try to keep everyone updated with pics and comments on a regular basis.

Rob:)

Its called rub rail. . . and the stuff is so expensive you will think you are making a mortgage payment when you go to replace it.

Thanks a bunch...looks like iboats carries a wide range of the stuff for good prices. I was able to salvage the rail just fine it was the insert i needed. Looks like ill be able to escape this with minimal damage. $50 or so.:D

it snaps in, rather than threads in, start buy working the top side in for a few feet, then come back and slip the bottom side, big screw driver or putty knife works well.
