We were boating Sunday and when we were returning to the launch I ran our 4.3 Mercruiser up to about 4300 rpm. It was running fine until the motor started a wrapping noise. I took it to the mechanic and he says it sounds like it spun a bearing. It still has oil pressure but it's noisy. He is recommending buying a mercruiser or jasper short block. The original engine is 15 years old so it is probably the best move depending on the $$$. Any other good sources for short blocks?
